Week 4 on Jessica McKnight's U.S. Photography Tour finds us in San Diego, California. We set up camp at Pio Pico Campground in Jamul, CA. The campground is part of our Thousand Trails membership. Unfortunately, the location of the campground which was nestled in between the mountains left for no cell service until we ventured closer to San Diego. Luckily, our mobile internet router was able to pick up a signal and still provided wifi while in camp to complete editing and make emails and texts.
The next morning we hopped into the truck and ventured into the city to explore and begin the task of scouting and confirming our locations for the upcoming sessions. While exploring we made our way to Sunset Cliffs, La Jolla, Liberty Station, Point Loma, Mission Bay, Balboa Park, Shelter Island, Scripps Pier, Torey Pines Glider Port, Presidio Park, Coronado, and many others areas along the way.
After a day full of exploring and scouting locations, we finally took a break to catch up with an old friend for dinner and drinks and also then catch a Padres Game to cap off the day.
Our first session was a combination Boudoir & Fashion Session. Boudoir Sessions don't always have to be In-Studio and accommodations can be made for Hotel Rooms such as this session or we can even do outdoor versions where possible. For the Fashion portion of the session, we headed out to Sunset Cliffs for some amazing shots.

Our second session during our stop in San Diego was a Boudoir & Swimwear session. For this session our client opted for a posh hotel to provide a clean and elegant setting. To cap off the session, we took a short drive to Scripps Pier for the swimwear portion.

The drive from San Diego to our next stop in San Francisco was a simple but long drive. We were fortunate to breeze through Los Angeles without any major traffic. The rest of the trek was pretty much either mountains or farmlands without much excitement. We did see a military train transporting a wide range of army vehicles which was a cool sight and also found the aqueduct system running water through the state to the south interesting. Note to those traveling this stretch of California, Don't roll the windows down to take pictures while driving along the cow farms (Eww! Stinky!!!)
